What is Adaware Pro and Adaware Plus?

Adaware Pro and Adaware Plus are anti spyware products. Adaware Pro comes with additional features essential for advanced users. The adaware software is available in three different versions the pro, plus & free edition. Since I was interested in all the features of this software, I bought the pro edition.

Does the Adaware help in minimizing spyware & virus threats?

Yes. I was amazed at the spyware detection levels of this tool. It identified many of files which I had downloaded from lot of internet sites as spywares & trojans. (Well, you are tempted to download free files from the net, aren’t you). Adaware also provides a real time monitor which checks all the files while downloading and detects spywares thus preventing any harm to the machines. I personally do not like any software running in the background since I feel that such tools can sometimes consume a lot of system resources. But with adaware, I was happy to keep the tool running since it consumed very low system resources.

With the adaware free edition, you only get the anti spyware. The enhance rootkit removal system ensures detection of all the rootkits installed on your machine. The adaware system also comes with tracks eraser to ensure your privacy by removing your browsing history, browser cache & the .dat files which are normally used by the system to store information of all the sites you have browsed.

The pro edition provides additional features like advanced command line support, ad-watch connect, process watch module & network drive scanning. as a home user, you may not be interested in the advanced options. But the advanced feature that I personally liked was the process watch module. This feature helps in monitoring all the process running on the system to detect if any of the system process has been infected by the spywares without your knowledge thus ensuring full system protection.

What if I need help in installing and using the Adaware system?

Free technical support is available with your purchase of Adaware. The free adware version does not come with any technical support. The purchased copy also has an automatic update feature which ensures your copy of adaware is updated for new threats.
