Is “The Physique Formula” any good?

The guide seems to be neatly presented with lot of attention to step by step details. First few pages of the guide explain the basics of physique and various hormones which affect the body. The guide explains various skinny fat hormones and how they affect the overall development of the body. This information probably must be important but for a result oriented person like me, this information was useless. What am I supposed to do reading about how hormones affect my body. If it is really that important then I need to know how I should work on the hormonal issue. Isn’t it?

The next section is an interesting read and explains the six carb rules that should be followed by the skinny fat people. The instructions are well laid out and deliver the intended message.

One point I liked in the guide was “Detach yourself from the end goal”. Absolutely, true enough. Most of the guys are only focused on acheiving the end goal of a muscular body and follow a rigorous workout. But then once they have achieved a good muscular body, they slow down. This may not be the right approach. You need to start slow but maintain the rigour throughout. This also means defocussing from your so-called goal. This approach will ensure that your body gets the rest it needs as well it gets accustomed to the workout routines.

The Physique Formula guide then goes in the details of workout routines. The routines explained in the guide are neatly laid out as per the day of the week including details on the sets, reps tempo and rest. The first set of routines is explained for the bullet proof body workouts for the first two months. The guide then moves into the first 4 weeks of beginners level workout sessions and then week 5-9 for intermediate routines followed by intermediate routines week 12 to 16. Similarly the workout routines for advanced 1-4, advanced 5-9 and advanced 9-12 and advanced 12-16 weeks are explained.

Though I liked the way the information was presented in for the workout routines, I was disappointed with the fact that no pictures were available when explaining the routines. The workout routines only explain the routines and the schedules that you need to follow but it took some effort on my part to know what the routine was.
